Jessica Ivins

Senior Experience Designer

Jessica Ivins is a multi-disciplinary experience designer. She has developed, designed, and tested a diverse range of websites and software applications. Whether she is leading user testing for multinational investment corporations or wireframing an application to build a virtual ice cream sundae, Jessica approaches each problem with an expertise built from experience and a brain wired for information design.

Jessica began building the web in 2004, working as a front-end developer for Traffic.com. The principles of user-centered design and the value of a positive user experience she learned there carried her through her work at G2 interactive, where she spent several years as a user experience architect. While at G2, she worked on intense projects involving ethnographic research, usability testing, and interaction design. In March of 2010, she joined the team at Happy Cog as a senior experience designer.

Jessica “discovered” computers while attending college, where she was required to take a computer programming class. Notwithstanding her nervousness about the class, she was fascinated and intrigued by what she learned, and continued to incorporate web design and front-end development classes into her studies. She graduated with honors from The College of New Jersey in 2004, earning a double major in Fine Arts and Art Education.

A strong advocate for universal usability, Jessica is the first to admit that she’s befuddled by a lack of clarity in everything from road signage to food packaging. A bookworm and wellness enthusiast, she busies herself with cooking, reading, and exercising, and is hard at work designing an experience that combines all three activities into one.
